Digital switchover

National Grid Wireless are planning to convert the analogue TV equipment on a 25 meter lattice tower 540 metres away from our house for the digital tv switchover.

How safe is this sort of signal? Is it pulsed? How does it work? The plans say that the signal will still come from the same attenna as the current analogue TV transmissions?

There has not been enough experience with the digital TV signals to be able to judge on this. They are usually lower powered than the analogue channels. The digital TV signals do not pulse significantly. At present, I would not be worried by this change. Sorry not to be able to answer better than this.
