Hi
I have heard electrosmog sounds, and I don't know what they are. I was wondering if anybody else might know?
THE 'SQUEAK'.......
It is a short sound, similar to radar, but - it has a slightly higher pitch, and it is not regular.
It might go -
squeak-squeeeeak-squeak (pause for a few seconds, sometimes two seconds, sometimes four or five)
then a different pattern of squeaks
squeeeeeeeeak-squeeeak-squeak
for example.
The number and lengths of the 'squeaks' varies, but they are usually for a few seconds only, with a few seconds pause betweeen one group and the next.
It seems to be fairly constant throughout the day, so I think probably not an amatuer radio enthusiast? About three miles away is a hill with two big masts on, one I think is used by the Civil Aviation Authority, though I think the sound tends to come from the other direction, so it might not be related.
THE 'WHOOSHING'.....
It goes 'whooooooosh'(maybe two seconds) - then a pause of about one second - then 'whooooooosh' (the same length as the first whoosh) - pause again - in a regular pattern.
Its within about half a mile of the sea, on flat land. Also about three miles away from a big shared mast.
Please does anybody know what the sounds could be?
And is the Civil Aviation Authority mast likely to be a problem? I'm concerned it might be operating at a frequency outside the range of 27MHz - 3.3 GHz, so it might not even register at all, even if its powerful.
Any help much appreciated! |

Please try recording them and either email a sound file to us or send us an ordinary audio cassette tape (not a miniature dictaphone tape) with the sounds on. The MW1 ES Detector has an audio output (standard 3.5mm stereo jack) or you can use a microphone on your cassette recorder (etc).
Educated guessing: The squeak could be some for of WiFi or a specialist radar. The whooshing could be radar (including military). You could also email your postcode to info@powerwatch.org.uk and I will have a look and think.
