I am working with a group of other concerned parents to try to persuade the head teacher and governors to return to hard wiring from the wifi they have had installed approx 2 years ago. Do you know of any other schools who have removed wifi for safety reasons and if so details of any contacts of parents involved in its removal would be fantastic to try to get some hints.

Please send your contact details (including postal address) to info@powerwatch.org.uk and we will see if we can help to put you in touch.

I assume that you have downloaded this PDF file from our WiFi page:

There is a parent in Cambridge currently pushing this issue and he has written a longish document that he will probably share when it is finalised. I also suspect he would be happy to talk to you about this. His school (which is fairly new, was "ecologically built" and was fully ethernet wired for computers, was effectively forced to go WiFi in order to get government IT grants. Quite crazy and wrong. WiFi is slower, less reliable and less secure than ethernet - quite apart from possible adverse health effects on the children.

Alasdair. I can't thank you enough for your prompt and helpful response. It is such a relief to have contact with someone who undertstands my concerns. I will forward my contact details as suggested. I would also be interested in seeing the document the parent in Cambridge has written when it is ready if at all possible. Could you arrange this/ pass my contact details to them if possible to see if they will share it with me please?

Kind Regards

Jayne
