Hello again Alasdair & Co
I am curious:
In which publication is this 10 Hz beacon signal documented? Is it part of the IEEE 802.11 standard documentation?
All I could find about this beacon frame: http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/print.php/1492071
How to measure it? What meter should I use?
Thanks in advance.

I found the following Swiss Report 'Electrosmog in the environment':
http://www.bafu.admin.ch/publikationen/publikation/00686/index.html?lang=en&down
The 10 Hz signal is mentioned in it and the report contains interesting Wi-Fi measurements. Any other sources?
Cheers

The beacon frame is not always set to 10 Hz. The EMFields Acoustimeter enables you to hear and measure the WiFi signal. The 10 Hz is just a burst rate interval when no data in being transmitted and when large files are being transferred it becomes difficult to pick it out. Some WiFi enabled laptops give it out continuously when uable to find a local WiFi wLAN signal.
Very best wishes
Alasdair (on Andrew's computer).
