My children's school are planning to renew all the lighting and associated wiring. Having read the various articles on this site related to lighting and EMFs, it seems clear that most lighting companies are not concerned with the EMFs and health implications. I am also aware that there are now some alternatives to CFLs, for example the Philips 'Halogena Energy Saver' and the Energy Saving Halogen 'Halosaver'. I anticipate that trying to get all the EMF requirements that would best suit the children may be extremely difficult using a standard lighting company. Do you know whether there are any companies that are more EMF-aware that could advise and install in a school environment?

Alasdair on Andrew's computer.
LED lighting might be best, but halogen would be a good second best. I suspect you will get HF fluorescents - in which case you should try to insist of "full spectrum" (not necessarily the same as "daylight" which is just for colour balance). Full spectrum lighting may well more than compensate for any slight increase in EMF levels. Look up John Ott's work on this in the internet.
Sorry, but I do not know of suitable contractors.
