On reading a report written by Barrie Trower for the UK Police Federation, I was wondering whether it is possible that Tetra technology could be used as a form of mind control, as there are apparently plans for thousands more Tetra masts to be located throughout the country. The frequency of 17.6Hz makes this seem quite plausible. What is your opinion on this? |

I originally wondered about this. The handsets pulse strongly at that frequency, but the masts only VERY weakly at 17.6 and 70.4 Hz. The new TETRA2 software has now eliminated the 17.6 and 70.4 Hz interframe gaps and most TETRA masts now do not have any ELF pulsing. They do produce a lot of audio-band EMR in the range 2 to 18 kHz and which can be heard on a simple AM demodulator as a loud sounding hiss.
I believe the roll-out of TETRA was not connected with the 17.6 Hz and mind control issues, but actually because Motorola owned the encryption rights and, as they are an American corporation, all systems sold had to have their keys given to the US NSA who can then monitor the security services in any country using TETRA. That was why Britain was seen as a key flagship demonstration country to help sell the TETRA system around the world.
The better and non-ELF pulsing TETRAPOL system was owned by the French and they were just about the last "friendly" country that the USA and Britain wanted to have the decryption rights. That was why the UK tendering process for the new secure communications system was biased and was eventually judged illegal by the European Court - though I don't think any action was taken against the UK over this illegal process.
