The light switches should not be producing a sound on your electrosmog detector. Possible causes are microwaves travelling around the wiring from a nearby DECT phone base unit or phone mast. What are the sounds like? Have a listen to the samples on the Electromsog Detector web page. If it is DECT, you will need to find the unit, if it is a phone mast, then ferrite filters will need to be clipped around various wiring cables to try to stop the microwaves travelling along them. (Assuming that the signals are not just coming through a window)

Another possibility is that you have one or more light-dimmer controller switches - they can generate significant RF switching noise, especially the cheaper ones. We do recommend that they are generally used and are best replced with ordinary switches.

It is unlikely that screened cable would help. That is to reduce the ELF (mains frequency) electric fields that some ES people react to.
